Archie Safety Action Plan
Archie Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan
As part of the U.S. Department of Transportation Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program, the City of Archie is developing a Safety Action Plan (SAP) for our streets. The SAP will include traffic safety strategies based on input from the community and traffic crash data to reduce and ultimately eliminate crashes that result in injuries and deaths. It will also include recommendations for traffic-related strategies that will benefit the City and all those who use its roadways.
Community input will be a cornerstone of the Safety Action Plan development process, so that the plan reflects the unique needs and priorities of residents and others who travel around or through Archie. By gathering feedback, we can better understand your everyday experiences and safety concerns. We welcome you to share your thoughts through the 5-minute online survey below or contact us at cityadmin@cityofarchie.org.

Thank you for helping invest in the future of Archie. This project will make Archie a safer place to live, work, and visit. By developing the Safety Action Plan, the City aims to:
- Reduce Traffic Fatalities and Injuries: The primary goal is to prevent serious crashes and save lives by identifying and addressing safety challenges on local roads.
- Create Safer Streets for All: The project aims to improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, regardless of their age or background, ensuring that everyone can navigate the community safely.
- Support Livability: Safe transportation infrastructure is essential for maintaining a high quality of life and supporting economic development.
- Safer Truck Routes: Identify safe routes for trucks to travel through Archie to avoid areas with high pedestrian and bicycle usage.
- Secure Federal Funding for Implementation: Developing a SAP positions Archie to apply for future SS4A funding to implement the identified safety improvements, providing access to resources for long-term change.
